The pedal height is measured from the centre of the pedal spindle
to a line between the two highest points where the sole of the
shoe makes contact with the pedal.

The thickness of the sole is measured where the ball of the
foot makes contact with the sole of the shoe, including the
insole.

PEDAL HEIGHT & SOLE THICKNESS
Changing the pedals or switching shoes generally has consequences
for the saddle height and therefore also for the handlebar height.
Differences in the pedal height can be up to 15 mm. The thickness
of the sole varies between 7 and 21 mm.
Choose a pedal or shoe manufacturer to suit the height and thickness
of the models respectively.
